Weapon Projects

What was the aim for the Shooter Demo? The aim for the shooter demo was to create a space to test out different weapons. The weapons here had 2 firing modes each, using the same ammunition, but different values. I wanted to create an environment in which players could shoot and destroy targets on the map, and to destroy as many as possible within the set time limit. The second goal was to create a working vehicle that could be "possessed" so I created another floating tank. This time, I wanted to gain a sense of realism, instead of a stylised tank. Creating feedback for players was important, so I made sure to make the tank react to each shot, as well as making the tank feel heavy to control.

In comparison to the Shooter Demo, here is an old project called Sewer Drop. This was a framework given to us, instead of having to create things ourselves. The aim of this project was to have a working map with working keys, similar to DOOM. Both projects took similar amounts of time, taking a semester to complete. Creating AI for the Weapon Project would have made things a lot more interesting, instead of just firing at targets on a shooting range. Sewer Drop was designer as a mission, whereas the WeaponProject was a multiplayer map, also using server settings in the creation, making it possible to play with multiple players.
